Bashir Y. Farah is a Vice President for Administration and Development in Kabridahar University. He was born and raised in Somali Region of Ethiopia. In 2003, he had a diploma in English and Social Studies from Kotebe College of Teacher Education. In 2005, Bashir Y. Farah obtained B.A degree in Educational Planning and Management at Addis Ababa University.
In 2012 he received a BSc in European Public Health from Maastricht University in the Netherlands. In 2013, he received a MSc in Public Health Sciences from the Mälardalen University in Sweden. Currently, Bashir Y. Farah is a PhD candidate at School of Care and Public Health Research Institute (CAPHRI) in Maastricht University, the Netherlands.
Between 2014 and 2018 he was a lecturer in health promotion at Jazan University of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. From late 2018 to 2020 he served as a development advisor for the Vice President of Somali Regional State government, Ethiopia.
Trained as a Public Health Professional, Bashir Y. Farah has a passion for health, what health notion is, why do we value it, and what determines what we call health? He believes the overarching mission of health research is to contribute to sustainable quality of life for all people in the 21st century and beyond.
