Who We Are
Kabridahar University was established in 2015 under the proclamation No. 349/2015 and it is one of the fourth-generation public universities in Ethiopia. It is located in Kabridahar City, Korrahey Zone, Somali Regional State, Ethiopia. In the academic year of 2017/2018, the university received undergraduate students as its first batch of students. Initially, The Ministry of Education assigned around 1,200 students to Kabridahar University in 2017/2018; however, the university received about 800 students in that academic year.At present, Kabridahar University consists of five colleges:
- College of Dryland Agriculture
- College of Business and Economics
- College of Natural and Computational Science
- College of Social Science and Humanities, and
- College of Freshman and Common Courses
These colleges are organized into 17 departments; namely, Department of Natural Resource Management, Department of Agricultural Economics, Department of Agribusiness and Value Chain Management, Department of Rural Development and Agricultural Extension, Department of Plant. Science, Department of Animal Production and Technology, Department of Management, Department of Economics, Department of Accounting and Finance, Department of Public Administration, Department of Biology, Department of Physics, Department of Chemistry, Department of Mathematics, Department of Geography, Department of History and Heritage Management, and Department of English and Literature Studies. Currently, 3,200 undergraduate students from a variety of regions in Ethiopia are enrolled at Kabridahar University. Additionally, the first batch comprising 625 students will be graduating from Kabridahar University on February 13, 2021.
Kabridahar University is also involved in various research projects, community services and knowledge sharing activities to improve the wellbeing of the local communities around the university’s campus. Kabridahar University aims to offer a rich cultural environment for researchers as well as students, and diffuse that atmosphere into the local communities living in the areas in which the university is located – and beyond.

Vision
Kabridahar University aspires to be the first leading higher education in the country for natural resource management and utilization, pastoral and agro-pastoral community education, research and technology transfer by 2030.
Establishment
Kabridahar University was established in 2015 as an autonomous public Higher Education Institution with its own legal personality under the proclamation No. 349/2015 of the council of Ministers of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. KDU received 1,200 students as a first batch for 2017/18 academic year.
