Mahamed Abdi Wali serves as the Director for Research, Publication and Technology Transfer Directorate at Kabridahar University. Born and raised in Kabridahar, Somali Region, Mahamed took his primary and secondary education at Kabridahar City Admininstration. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Sciences from Debre Tabor University, and later on recieved his Master’s Degree in One-Health in Tropical Infectious Diseases from Jigjiga University.

Mahamed is one of the first academic staff employed at Kabridahar University. He was first hired in the institution as a Graduate Assistant I (GA I) and then promoted to GA II before becoming a full Lecturer at the Department of Animal Sciences. He is now a senior lecturer and researcher who is involved in the work of teaching and research and has different research themes including: Animal Production, Animal Health Delivery, Neglected Tropical Diseases, Pastoral Community Development, Zoonotic Diseases, Food Safety, Infectious Diseases and others. Moreover, he also published different research articles.

Apart from lecturing and research at KDU, Mahamed served in different other positions at the university including: the department head of the Animal Production and Technology Department; a member in the Academic Committee at the College of Dry Land Agriculture and in the Institutional Self-evaluation Committee at KDU; he is also now serving as the secretary for the university’s Research Ethics Committee (IRB). In addition to this, Mahamed has also been a skills trainer at the Animal Production Department of Kabridahar TVET College since 2017.:
